Cask ales at the Butchers Arms, Mossley

Here at the Butchers we take great pride in our cask ales. Gently nursed to perfection you will find a clear, aromatic pint in front of you served to a perfect 11.5-12°. We are constantly on the look out for new flavours and exciting tastes whilst keeping a good old favourite ‘go-to’ beer for you at all times. Lines are kept perfectly clean and glassware renovated regularly.

CrossBay Citra.


Big citrus tropical notes and a slight floral hint on the nose with a well balanced body and flavours of mango and grapefruit. This ale has recently won a number of awards. 4.2%

CrossBay Buddy.


This is a dark wheat beer brewed with the finest cocoa then infused with a rich orange. 4.6%

Timmy Taylor’s Boltmaker

A well-balanced, genuine Yorkshire Bitter, with a full measure of maltiness and hoppy aroma – Boltmaker is first choice for the discerning drinker – on both sides of the Pennines. Formerly known as Best Bitter, Boltmaker has won many awards over the years but most recently it was awarded the CAMRA Supreme Champion Beer of Britain in 2014 and Champion Beer of Britain – Bitter category in 2016.

The drinkers’ favourite, a classic pale ale with a complex citrus and hoppy aroma.
It has won more awards than any other beer, winning both CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain and the Brewing Industry Awards Gold Medal four times. 4.3%
