Thank you – we came third!!!

Hi guys,

Saturday 6th June proved to be a great day for entertainment thanks to the Tameside Pub Guide on Facebook!

The ‘Back Your Boozer’ Campaign was put together by the lovely Macy Evans and Mark Staines who runs the Tameside Pub Guide and this is how the orininal post read:

🍺 BACK YOUR BOOZER – LOCKDOWN FESTIVAL OFFICIAL POLL

Our aim is to raise funds to support local pubs, clubs and bars around Tameside. Due to the current outbreak of Covid-19, local pubs have had to close which has put them at risk of closing due to lack of income. We’ve created this poll in the Tameside Pub Guide Facebook group for you to vote for your favourite local pubs. At the end of the festival, the top 10 pubs in the poll will be added to a random winner spinner and the first 3 landed on will get an even share of all donations collected. We will only be donating to pubs in the Tameside Pub Guide area. The poll has been pre-filled with some of The Tameside Pub Guide’s regular advertisers but please feel free to add your local if it’s not in the list.To raise money, will be streaming 8 hours of live entertainment from 8 well known acts from around Tameside. All streams will be live on The Tameside Pub Guide Facebook page at www.facebook.com/groups/TamesidePubGuide on Saturday 6th June from 14:00.

List Of Performing Acts

The poll then went on to see The Butchers Arms slowly rise up to 3rd place, an achievement we are extremely proud of.

The top ten (out of 100 pubs) ended up like this….

The top ten were put into a draw and three were randomly selected to receive a share of any donations made by the public.

We’d like to say a massive well done to the three pubs who saw a share of the £600 raised!

Here’s a few links to some of the artists that worked so hard to help…

Hi, I’m Julia, landlady of the Butchers Arms Mossley. I have three children, all grown up and a partner called Daniel who has been nothing but supportive in my quest to become landlady! It’s been my life long dream to have my own pub and finally that dream has come true for me! I’m a naturally optimistic person and have previously been a pub singer, a DJ, a karaoke host and run bars. I love music, festivals and love bands and so you will always find a tune or two in the background whilst you visit. I genuinely hope your visit to Butchers will leave you feeling welcomed and wanting to return.
